More Advanced Features now Standard on many Cellular Phones

Iowa City, IOWA (PRWEB) November 3, 2009 -- Consumers are increasingly expecting more advanced features to come standard with their cell phones, according to market research firm In-Stat. Lost Cost Cells, an Iowa City, Iowa based company, says manufacturers are responding.
"Many of our phones now come with the capability to play music, take pictures and go on the Internet," said Nate Schmidt, president. "Our top seller, the AT&T Samsung Eternity, even features a built-in camcorder."
In its research, In-Stat noted the growing demand for cell phone cameras can be linked to the rising popularity of social networking.
"It's easier than ever to access applications like Facebook and Twitter on many of the devices we sell," Schmidt said. "Customers can snap a photo of something interesting with their phones and instantly upload it to the Web."
Asked to name characteristics of 'the ideal phone,' In-Stat found that in addition to digital cameras, many customers also want to see a built-in global positioning system (or GPS) device.
"GPS is great," Schmidt said. "Devices like our popular Verizon LG Voyager will give you turn-by-turn directions via the VZ Navigator program, ensuring you're never lost."
Low Cost Cells is an online distributor of cell phones from major cell phone carriers across the United States, including T-Mobile, Verizon, AT&T, Nextel and Sprint. The company's goal is to provide the best value and service in the cell phone industry.
