Miami, FL (PRWEB) November 3, 2009 -- A Great Piece of Rock & Roll History, what the New York Times called a “Jubilant Piano Summit,” and People Magazine chose as the “Pick of the Week” when it premiered in July of 1986, is finally available on DVD. This musical treasure was missed by the major companies; they ignored an incredible night of music magic. Producer David McBurnett has taken control of his original Masters to ‘Fats Domino and Friends’, a live concert shot at New Orleans’ famous Storyville nightclub. He and his partner Rick Lazes have re-released the show on DVD and made it available at their web site: www.FatsAndFriends.com.

With the release of this DVD, McBurnett and his partners are dragging these 1950’s rock & rollers into the Web 2.0 environment. They are starting a grass roots campaign, featuring promotional clips on YouTube, Google, Daily Motion, and Facebook. Clips from the show have already had over 3 million hits on social networking sites. In an age where music of every era is available on the web, these classic rock & roll performances continue to grab new listeners every day.
In producing this music special, McBurnett and his team introduced a new intimacy to Music Television - three original inductees of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame jamming in a live, unscripted environment. This was the first and only time these three icons of Rock & Roll played together. Also featured were Ron Wood from the Rolling Stones and famed drummer Steve Jordan (Blues Brothers, John Mayer trio). The show’s MC, Musical Director and keyboardist was Paul Shaffer of David Letterman and Saturday Night Live fame. This unique presentation earned the highest ratings of any HBO/Cinemax special of that era.

We recorded Fats before ‘Ray’ was released and Jamie Foxx won an Oscar, before MTV started their now-famous Unplugged sessions before Paul Shaffer was a fixture on late night television, before Katrina hit New Orleans,” says McBurnett. “This show was a magical night of music and showmanship between three men who forged the sound of Rock & Roll music.
