Substantial Second Quarter Surge for Angel MedFlight Worldwide Air Ambulance Services

Scottsdale, AZ (PRWEB) September 16, 2008 -- Angel MedFlight Worldwide Air Ambulance Services had a twenty-five percent increase in the number of air ambulance flights they operated in the second quarter of 2008.
Angel MedFlight is an Arizona-based air ambulance company providing domestic and international patient transfer and medical evacuation services. Angel MedFlight has a pristine safety record, with no incidents or accidents.
"We've had a significant increase in the number of patient transfers over the last couple of months," says William McCluskey, Director of Operations and Chief Flight Paramedic for Angel MedFlight. "In order to accommodate the growth and continue providing the highest level of service, we've added several new medical staff."
Angel MedFlight has expanded their medical team with the addition of thirteen flight nurses and twelve flight paramedics. Angel MedFlight operates all flights with two pilots and a minimum of two medical personnel on board the aircraft. A standard medical crew includes a Critical Care Flight Nurse and a Critical Care Flight Paramedic.
Angel MedFlight attributes the considerable jump in the number of air ambulance flights last quarter to several factors.
"Our contract with Blue Cross Blue Shield effective July 1 is certainly a factor," states McCluskey. "We also provide excellent service on a consistent basis, which helps us build relationships with Case Managers and hospital administrators, who are a staple of our flight intake."
Also contributing to the heightened flight schedule is a continued presence at both medical and aviation industry trade events. Angel MedFlight aircraft and personnel sponsored the Chippewa Valley Air Show in Eau Claire, Wisconsin September 13 - 14. The annual event features aerobatics, static display and military performers including the U.S. Navy Blue Angels, and attracts thousands of aviation enthusiasts.
