New Website CharterTeacher.com Provides Resources for Charter School Teachers, Charter Administrators and Aspiring Teachers
CharterTeacher.com is a new website offering professional development, teacher certification, charter school news and other free resources for current charter school teachers, charter school administrators and those wishing to teach in a charter school. The site includes a charter school events calendar, online forums—where members of the charter school community can share tips and other information—and a fully searchable job listings section.
(Vocus/PRWEB ) November 3, 2009 -- The American Board for Certification of Teacher Excellence (ABCTE) has launched www.charterteacher.com, a new website focused on providing resources for charter school teachers, charter school leaders and administrators, and those who aspire to teach in a charter school.
“We’ve been certifying charter school teachers for several years now. But while serving on the board for a charter school and attending charter school conferences, I came to realize that the charter community needed an easier way to access resources and share information. We’ve created CharterTeacher.com and our goal is to work even more closely with charter schools to ensure that every charter school student has a great teacher,” says ABCTE CEO David Saba.
CharterTeacher.com includes pages devoted to charter teacher recruitment, charter teacher preparation, charter teacher certification and professional development for charter school teachers.
In conjunction with the launch of the new website, November is ABCTE Charter School Teacher Month. ABCTE is offering two special promotions as part of this:
Charter school teachers can enroll in the ABCTE teaching certification program for $795 during November, for a savings of $180. Charter school leaders can purchase an ABCTE professional development site license for $350. This license gives any teacher in the school access to the over 1,200 hours of content, 24 hours a day, seven days a week through the end of the school year.
CharterTeacher.com also features a free, fully searchable charter school jobs section that allows charter administrators to post open positions at their school. Those seeking to become a charter school teacher can post their resume or search for teaching positions.
“In speaking with charter school leaders about challenges they face, many of them have mentioned that they need more ways to get to the word out to great candidates about their open teaching positions,” says ABCTE COO Bonnie Zuckerman. “On the other side, we’ve also heard from current teachers, subject area experts and career changers who want to find a more efficient way to get themselves in front of school administrators. With this in mind, we included a jobs section on CharterTeacher.com that not only allows school principals to post open positions but also for job seekers to post their resumes. We hope to see lots of visitors taking advantage of these free resources.”
An online forum within CharterTeacher.com also provides members of the charter school community with a place to share tips, success stories and other information. The site also includes a page focused on providing the latest charter school news and information. The CharterTeacher.com events calendar lists upcoming conferences, job fairs and webinars for the charter school community.
