Living without a Name: A View through Black Eyes Released by Dorrance Publishing

This book explores the legacy of African people in America, their struggle for survival and continuing search for identity.

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (PRWEB) November 1, 2009 -- Living Without a Name: A View through Black Eyes by Ronald DeLoach of Antioch, California, has been released by Dorrance Publishing.

Who are black people? Do black people exist as a race? Although much of their connection to the African continent's history and culture is gone, including the names of approximately eighty-five tribes that comprise African Americans, the author attempts to answer these and other questions. In vivid detail, he traces humankind's beginning and destiny, from recognition of the soul, to a belief in a supreme being, to God, the state, and the family. He states that slavery should be seen as the birth of a people, a people who are yet un-named. He stresses the importance of family, education, and history as a means of moving forward and gaining acknowledgment as a people. He makes a plea for direction. This book is about the legacy of African people in America, their struggle for survival and their continuing search for identity.

DeLoach graduated from San Jose State University with a degree in history. He went on to serve the city of San Jose, California, as a police officer. He is now retired and lives with his wife, Veronica, in Antioch California. DeLoach is a member of the Omega Psi Phi fraternity, Inc. and the Association of Retired San Jose Police and Firefighters. His interests include sailing, bike riding, backpacking and golfing. He also enjoys relaxing while walking his dog Khufu aka Chance.

Living Without a Name: A View through Black Eyes is a 94-page paperback with a retail price of $9.00. The ISBN is 978-4349-0361-7. It was published by Dorrance Publishing Co., Inc. of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
