Palmetto State Quartet Announces Realignment Following the Retirement of Kerry Beatty

Palmetto State Quartet announces the retirement of Kerry Beatty and acquisition of Paul Lancaster. Palmetto State (PSQ) also announces 2009 Christmas tour with Wynonna Judd

(Billboard Publicity Wire/PRWEB ) November 1, 2009 -- PSQ (Palmetto State Quartet) has undergone some major changes recently. Kerry Beatty (lead singer and owner of PSQ for the past 12 years) has sold the group to bass singer Larry Strickland (Former Bass singer with Elvis, and husband to Naomi Judd of the famous mother/daughter country duo "The Judds") and has taken a full-time position as Minister of Music at a church in Belle Glade, Florida. Kerry worked thousands of dates and traveled thousands of miles during his time with PSQ, making a huge contribution to the group while making the sacrifice of being away from his wife Lisa and young son, Jonathan. Kerry commented that he needed to be home more, and didn't want to miss the opportunity to watch his son grow up.

"Finding a replacement for Kerry was not easy," says Strickland, "but we got lucky and convinced seasoned gospel artist Paul Lancaster to join the group." Paul is an amazing talent and is well known throughout the southern gospel music industry.

PSQ, one of the oldest names in southern gospel music, now consists of Bass Singer/Owner/Manager Larry Strickland, Baritone/Lead/Emcee Brian Beatty, Lead/Baritone Paul Lancaster, Tenor Robert Fulton, Keyboards - Casey Martin and Woody Beatty.

Larry Strickland has partnered with Mark Carman to manage the day to day business of the group, and to form their own recording company, Peaceful Valley Records. New recordings are in the works, the first of which is a Christmas Project to coincide with Wynonna Judd's Christmas Tour beginning on November 29 (check the website for tour dates). PSQ will not only sing Christmas Carols with Wynonna, but will also get to perform a couple of songs on their own. Strickland says he feels this tour is a great opportunity to expose PSQ to a whole new audience and perhaps raise the awareness of Southern Gospel Music.

PSQ is booked by the Beckie Simmons Agency, in Nashville, TN, the premier talent agency in the Gospel Music industry.
