New Interactive MAKESAFE Leak Detection Simulator, Presented by Midwest ENERGY Association and Heath Consultants
Midwest ENERGY Association (MEA) in conjunction with Heath Consultants announces the release of MAKESAFE Leak Detection Simulator. This new online gas leak simulation program presents the learner with a set of circumstances related to a reported gas leak. The learner then proceeds to investigate the reported leak using computer generated graphics, animation, and audio. The learner can perform several different actions during the simulation to control ignition source, turn off the gas, and vent the building in order to successfully complete the investigation. The simulator also provides for reinforcement of basic safety procedures, such as seat belt use, customer interactions, vehicle parking, and proper tool selection.

Eagan, MN (PRWEB) November 2, 2009 -- Midwest ENERGY Association (MEA) in conjunction with Heath Consultants announces the release of MAKESAFE Leak Detection Simulator.
The MAKESAFE Leak Detection Simulator is the next evolution of training technology for the energy industry. This simulation brings the utmost flexibility to train and assess our workforce now and in the future. It can be used in group classroom environments or assigned to individual learners. As with all MEA products it can be easily customized to accommodate company specific policies and procedures.
The simulation allows each user to select from four industry standard leak detection tools; they include Bascom Turner, Gas Explorer, MSA, Orion Plus IR Detector, Sensit Gold CGI and Heath Consultants/GMI GT Series. "We are extremely excited about this "new" version of interactive MAKESAFE and we feel this will be a great tool for the Natural Gas Industry to train their personnel on the Investigation of Leak and Odor calls and emergencies. With continued emphasis on training, safety and Operator Qualification we feel this will be an excellent tool to assist in these efforts," Paul D. Wehnert, vice president, sales & marketing, Heath Consultants Incorporated.
The simulation can be used in two modes a practice mode and evaluation mode. The practice mode allows the computer to assist the learner in the choices they make as they progress through the simulation levels. The evaluation mode allows learners to complete the various levels of the simulation without the aid of technology. Whether in practice or evaluation mode, the simulator tracks learner progress at each level using an "Action Log". Once the learner completes a scenario the action log can be used as a tool to review and reinforce proper procedures.
