Scotsman Guide Designers Win Society of Professional Journalists Awards
Artists receive Northwest Excellence in Journalism awards for spread design, feature design and illustration
Bothell, WA (PRWEB) June 5, 2009 -- Scotsman Guide, the leading resource for mortgage originators, has announced that its senior designer, Deborah Richardson, and art director, Dennis Wunsch, were honored with Northwest Excellence in Journalism awards from the Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ).
Richardson received first place in the spread-design category and second place in the feature-design category. The winning spread was for an article titled "Environmental Regulations Untangled" in Scotsman Guide's April 2008 commercial edition; the winning feature design appeared with an article titled "8 Creative Financing Methods (and How to Find Them)" in the October 2008 commercial edition.
Wunsch received second place in the cartoon and illustration category for an illustration accompanying "Training Traps: Take Heed" in Scotsman Guide's April 2008 commercial edition.
Scotsman Guide contributing illustrator Keith Negley also received an honorable mention in the cartoon and illustration category for his illustration accompanying the magazine's monthly "From the Editor" column in Scotsman Guide's September 2008 residential edition.
Wunsch picked up the awards at the SPJ Western Washington Pro chapter's Northwest Excellence in Journalism awards banquet in Bellevue, Wash., on May 30, 2009.
