Home Foreclosure Postings Filed for April Surged among Texas Counties Covered by Foreclosure Listing Service, Inc. in North & Central Texas

Foreclosure postings filed on homes for the upcoming foreclosure auctions on April 7th surged among 18 of the 19 counties located in an area generally spanning the Interstate 35 corridor from Far North Texas down through San Antonio. With around 8,600 postings filed on homes located in Foreclosure Listing Service, Inc.'s 19-county area for the upcoming foreclosure auctions on April 7th, monthly foreclosure posting activity reached the highest level on record in 8 of these counties.

Addison, TX (PRWEB) March 24, 2009 -- Mr. George Roddy, Sr., President of Foreclosure Listing Service, Inc. announced, "Foreclosure postings filed on homes for the upcoming foreclosure auctions on April 7th surged among 18 of the 19 counties covered by Foreclosure Listing Service, Inc. This area generally spans both sides of the Interstate 35 corridor from Far North Texas down through San Antonio."

Mr. Roddy stated, "With around 8,600 postings filed on homes located in this 19-county area for the upcoming foreclosure auctions on April 7th, monthly foreclosure posting activity reached the highest level on record in 8 of these counties. (Foreclosure Listing Service, Inc. began tracking these counties at various times. For example, we have tracked Dallas County since the early 1960's, Travis since 2001, and McLennan since 2003. Eight counties set new a new high for the coverage period; however, most likely these are all time highs or close to it.)

The foreclosure analyst, who's firm has provided pre-foreclosure lists since 1963, continued, "Home postings filed for the April foreclosure auctions were up 38 percent in Foreclosure Listing Service'soverall coverage area. For the same month last year, around 6,200 postings were filed on homes within this area."

Mr. Roddy commented, "With the various plans announced, you would thing that foreclosure postings might ease; but, that is not the case. At least not yet. We will simply have to wait out this storm to see if the outlined plans actually end up helping the average American homeowner or not."

Central Texas Region

The foreclosure analyst stated, "In general, the largest gains in home postings for April were reported among the counties we cover in the Central Texas region."

Mr. Roddy noted, "In the Central Texas region, a new monthly record high in home postings was set in 5 of the 9 counties that Foreclosure Listing Service, Inc. covers in this region. Travis, Williamson, Bexar, Bell and McLennan counties all reached their highest level of homes posted for foreclosure at the monthly auction that I have seen since we began coverage in these areas."

Mr. Roddy said, "The largest gain in April foreclosure notices was a 99% surge in Williamson County with 341 postings filed on homes compared to just 171 at this time last year."

Ranking second in gain, Mr. Roddy revealed, "The second largest increase in April foreclosure postings was a 91% jump in Guadalupe County, which is located in the outer reaches of the San Antonio Metro. For the upcoming auction, 65 homes in Guadalupe County have been posted for foreclosure compared to just 34 one year ago.

"Ranking third," he added, "was Comal County with a 79% surge in home postings. In this county, which is also on the outer edge of the San Antonio market,, 52 postings were filed on Comal homes for the upcoming April auction compared to just 29 for the same auction one year earlier."

Mr. Roddy also mentioned, "Travis County ranked fourth in gain with April's home postings skyrocketing 78% over the last year. At this time last year, 294 postings were filed on homes in Travis County; however, for the upcoming auction, that number shot up to 524 foreclosure notices."

In other Central Texas Counties, residential foreclosure notices for the upcoming foreclosure auctions in April increased as follows: Bexar County 65%, Bell County 60%, McLennan County 38%, Bastrop County 39%, and Hays County 18%.

North Texas Region

Mr. Roddy stated, "In the North Texas Region, home foreclosure postings reached the highest monthly level on record in three counties, including Collin County, Denton County, and Johnson County. Collin County home postings topped 600 for the first time; and, in Denton County, postings of homes climbed above 500 for the fourth time in the last 9 months. In addition, this marked only the second time that Johnson County's home postings reached above 90."

"Residential home postings within the North Texas region surged in 9 of the 10 counties," Mr. Roddy said.

He revealed, "The largest gain in postings within this region was a 63% jump in homes posted for foreclosure in Johnson County. For the upcoming foreclosure auction in April, 96 postings have been filed on Johnson County homes compared to just 59 notices at this time last year."

"The second highest gain in North Texas," the foreclosure researcher stated, "was a 51% increase in Parker County home postings. For the fourth foreclosure auction of 2008, just 39 postings were filed on homes located in Parker County; however, for the upcoming auction on April 7th, 59 postings have been filed on residences."

Gains were also reported in the following North Texas counties: Grayson County 35%, Tarrant County 32%, Ellis County 31%, Collin County 29%, Rockwall County 26%, Dallas County 24%, and Denton County 22%.

The only county to have no change in April's residential foreclosure posting activity was Kaufman County, which had 122 postings filed on homes for both the upcoming auction in April and the auction at this time last year.
