ATHLINKED, a niche professional and social networking platform based out of the Washington, DC Metro Region, has officially launched its website. ATHLINKED is focused on providing current and alumni athletes the tools to enhance their professional and social networking capabilities.

ATHLINKED was developed for athletes by athletes who understand the importance of networking. Its goal is to unite athletes across the world with a professional networking platform that will serve as a primary networking forum or supplement a current alumni or social network. After years of research, the ATHLINKED founders came to the realization that a professional network for athletes exists by virtue of the millions of athletes that have competed annually in University sponsored sports (Club, NAIA, NCAA, NJCAA, other), post collegiate club sports, professional sports, endurance sports, and action sports. However, sport specific alumni groups are non-existent, disjointed or unorganized and the web-based alternatives to professional networking are not focused enough to add value to a niche like athletics.
